The proof is in the pudding…or rather, in the soap! This past Sunday we held the first of our summer Organic Soap Making classes. We wanted to share some of the photos from the workshop with all of you. Feeling left out? Don’t forget to sign up for our next class! Sunday July 17th, from 12pm – 3pm.

Learn How to Make Organic Soap!

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Ahhhh…summertime. Sunshine, bike rides, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and…soap.

skinnyskinny is bringing back our organic soap making classes! This means you (yes, you!) have the opportunity to earn bragging rights when you show all your friends the custom soap that you make in our workshop.

During these 3 hour hands-on classes, you learn the cold process of soap making, basics of scent-blending, uses of different oils, stability, and much more. The best part, you get to leave with over 50 ounces of your very own batch of soap. That’s 10-12 bars of of sudsy goodness for you to share (or you can keep it for yourself, we won’t tell).

Classes are limited to 8 people to ensure everyone gets ample time learning the craft. Private classes are also available for small groups (perfect for birthdays, showers, or team-building).

The next available class will be: Sunday, July 10th from 12pm to 3pm.

We’ll continue to announce new classes throughout the season, so be sure to watch our facebook, twitter, and website!

Our Organic Soaps are getting a little bit of a facelift.  Of course, all these gorgeous new labels are printed with veggie inks on 100% Post-consumer wast recycled paper.  We’re just waiting on these to get back from the printer. It’s like waiting for a letter (or email or text) from a betrothed… In short, waiting is hard for us.  Here are a few of our faves, designed by the extraordinary Katrina Gelino:

So, Stephanie has been doing an amazing job of wrapping soaps.  It’s on the cusp of greatness, really.  I mean, seriously, look at that attention to detail.  And as always, all of the wrapping is 100% ecofriendly.  You can get yours here.

Featured Products: Organic Real Cocoa Soap & Organic Rose Almond Soap

We’ve blogged about sending organic flowers to your Valentine, but what about sending an organic bouquet of a different sort?  How about a nice bouquet of Organic Rose & Almond Soap.  It’s filled with lots of rose petals (ie, instant romance!) and it’s so nicely scented that it’s bound to make so-and-so forgive you for most of your idiosyncratic ways.  Most of them, anyway.  The point being that a rose is a rose is a rose.  You can find them here:

Or, how about sending some delicious organic chocolates?  We’ve got that…in soap.  Our Organic Real Cocoa Soap is excellent.  It’s filled with lots of unrefined organic cocoa butter that makes this soap smell like real true cocoa, not a sugary sweet dessert.  It’s remarkably gentle and moisturizing, too. Plus, no one will gain any weight from this chocolate.  Find it here:
