In The Beginning: An organic ecofriendly company is born
skinnyskinny started from a strong belief that Organic and Ecofriendly Bath and Body products should work as well (if not better) than conventional products. I envisioned products that were scented naturally, were long-lasting, and were unsurpassed in attention to detail and quality. These ideals have always defined skinnyskinny. We keep our products simple where they need to be simple (no synthetics, no sulfates, no artificial preservatives) and yet, skinnyskinny achieves and maintains its subtlety, complexity, and efficacy by never skimping on ingredients or our promises. skinnyskinny is about making things better.
Organic and Sustainable: Seriously
skinnyskinny makes our wide-range of products from certified organic ingredients. We make excellent, long-lasting and gentle organic soap, organic body oils, organic lip balms, unique and beautiful green gifts, and much more (just ask us). But this is really only half of our story (because that story would be a real snoozer): we are 100% carbon-neutral; we use recycled, reclaimed, and sustainable materials for all of our packaging; and with very few exceptions, we make every single product ourselves in our Brooklyn, NY workshop. This means that 98% of our products are made entirely by us here in the US. Our facility and products have been registered with the FDA we are members of the Organic Trade Association. Most of our products are vegan, and all of our products are cruelty-free.
Environmentally Responsible: Giving Back
skinnyskinny believes strongly in giving back to our community and in supporting non-profits that share our beliefs. A list of the specific charities that we support is available upon request. Within skinnyskinny, we support the individuality, creativity and personal lives of our staff through financial assistance for continuing education and flexible schedules to meet their needs.
How do we make our Organic Bath & Body Products?
Everyone here at skinnyskinny has an active role in product development. Usually, our decision to develop a product is based upon our realization that we personally need (or would really like) a particular organic product. This is how our organic soap came into being (because I couldn't find any that I liked), organic lip balms (we were looking for a light, non-waxy balm that would last a long time), organic body oils (something non-greasy and light, please!). I could go on and on. Anyway, for each product that we decide to make, we do extensive research on all of the ingredients as well as any materials that we may be using for packaging. For us, the packaging is not secondary, but plays a crucial part in the overall experience. It doesn't trump the importance of the product, but it's of utmost importance that we stay as diligent in our selection of eco-friendly and sustainable materials as we are in our use of certified organic ingredients. In most companies, corners are cut in order to save money. We are the rarest of companies that think a responsible business needs more corners, not less.

It's our determination to make the best products possible that sets us apart. We make products for the world that we want to live in. It's a place where 'before' and 'after' are more important than 'now'. Our customers are loyal because we do what we say we'll do (and then some).
